SCREEN-PRINTING
Personal project - 2017
Since 2017, I operate a small scale screen-printing home-studio, which allows me playful experimentations with graphics and inks. The fact that the printing process is done by hand, makes every print unique, and the printing itself become part of the creation process. I found this to be a very refreshing practice, which broadened my horizons as a designer.

MORMORION
Personal project - 2013A dark source of light
"Mormorion ab india nigerrimo colore tralucet, vocatur et promnion, cum in ea miscetur et carbunculi color, alexandrion, ubi vero sardae, cyprium. nascitur et in tyro et in galatia; xenocrates et sub alpibus nasci tradit. hae sunt gemmae, quae ad ectypas scalpturas aptantur."
Pliny the Elder, Naturalis Historia
Mormorion's first recorded mention is by Pliny the Elder in his Naturalis Historia; "a transparent stone from India, of a deep black colour". It is today known as morion, or smoky quartz.
Mormorion is a dark and shiny object, from which emanates a light that one can only see through certain angles, or when the object is in motion.
Mormorion is just a black block.
Interaction with nearby volumes surfaces and lights give it it's full dimension.
Repetitions, frequencies and cycles define it's motion.

TRANSMISSIONS
Personal projectExhibition in Beijing Design Week 2012
Transmission is the action or process of transmitting something. Energy, knowledge, signals, motion, are things that can be transmitted. Transmission usually happens through a medium, or interface.
I explored various design responses to this concept, searching for solutions to either display, explain, or use transmissions. The show is about possible interfaces/medium through which a transmission of some kind may occur.

A collection of graphics, depicting crystals. Because of their natural vibrations, they are allegories of radio-wave frequency based forms of communication and data transfer.

A Pulsar is a star that emit 2 beams of electromagnetic radiation (identifiable by their radio frequency). The pulsar is spinning and appear like a lighthouse with it's beam of light. Their unique signature makes them perfect points of reference to measure space and time, or to tune a decoder.

RHOMBOHEDRON
Personal projectRhombohedron [ˌrɒmbəʊˈhiːdrən]
noun - (Mathematics) a six-sided prism whose sides are parallelograms
Modular Furnitures
These long cabinets borrow their tilted shape from rhombohedral calcite crystals. From crystals, they also go this habit of not lining up. As their natural couterparts, they slide, rotate, translate, in an infinity of different combinations.
They can be arranged as a platform, benches, cabinets, table, book-shelves, bar, or all of the above at the same time
